What Is Legacy Giving?
Legacy giving is a faithful act of Christian stewardship through which believers provide for the future ministry of the church by making charitable gifts during their lifetime or through their estate, ensuring that the Gospel is proclaimed and future generations are equipped to know and follow Jesus Christ. Legacy giving is more than financial/estate planning—it is an expression of Christian discipleship.
Particularly for our ECO Presbyterian congregation, this definition also reflects the Reformed understanding that God is the owner of all things, we are His stewards, and our stewardship is part of our covenant responsibility to strengthen Christ’s Church from one generation to the next.
Legacy gifts allow their faith and generosity to continue advancing Christ’s Kingdom for those who follow. They support the church’s long-term mission by strengthening ministries such as worship, discipleship, missions, outreach, leadership development, and facilities. Legacy gift help ensure that the Gospel continues to be proclaimed and that the church remains a faithful witness to Jesus Christ for years to come.
